Steampunk

Pinkie Pie is best pony. So cute! /)^3^(\
For those of you that don't know what steampunk is, it is basically futuristic stuff styled around Victorian era/ 19th century fashion. I tend to think of a top hat with cogs on it. The setting is a time when steam engines are the primary source of power.

In light of the Technic Pack and the Industrial Revolution it is bringing, I couldn't help but think of steampunk. The art for it is just epic. While we can't exactly get really into it because we're stuck with whatever the Technic Pack gives us, our skins can at least reflect the genre.

[Query] New skin, or no?

I am getting tired of my Minecraft SMP skin. However, before I upload a new skin to my profile I want to get  some feedback. I'd suggest running these through skincraft, which is an awesome program on newgrounds, which, if you are not already familiar with it, you should get familiar with.

Current Skin (Supposed to be a cyborg, albeit a poorly made one)

Pending Skin( It's supposed to be an engineer in light of the new technic pack addition to the server)
When you are done, please give me feedback and tell me whether or not to change my skin.

One last thing: If you are confused by my title, remember these two statements:
  1. Knowledge is good for you
  2. Wikipedia/Online dictionaries are your friends
Thanks guys,
Pat

[Challenge] The Lag Challenge

To improve gameplay/ server quality every now and then I'll post up a challenge that I feel should be accepted and achieved.

So this challenge is the Lag Challenge. As most of you are aware Tekkit/ Technic Pack is much more CPU heavy thus making it more susceptible to lag, even with all the anti-lag plugins. The challenge is to make sure that everything you build uses the least amount of processing power possible. I have made a list of things that can be done to achieve this:
  1. Make sure no wires are "forked." Energy Storage devices like BatBoxes can be used to fork.
  2. Make sure all redstone clocks can be toggled on or off.
  3. Don't make random pointless piston stuff.
  4. Don't have 20 programs running at the same time on your PC. The server can feel it too.
  5. Make sure the wires don't make a loop. NOTE: Machines next to each other sometimes try to transfer energy, possibly causing a loop.
  6. Don't make giant explosion chain reactions.
Post below "Challenge Accepted" if you think you can achieve this like a boss.
