[Government] Constitution

Hi, this post is to state the rules we will follow from here on out

The Bill of Rights
    1.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right easily understand all laws written by the government without learning a large amount of legal jargon
    2.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to live peacefully
    3.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to believe whatever religion they choose
    4.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to petition the government and peacefully assemble
    5.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right of freedom of press
a.       Freedom of the press shall not include public broadcasts that disturb any other player’s peaceful time
    6.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to own property
a.       Other players may not be enslaved for any reason
    7.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitle to the right to know their rights at all times
a.       Policemen must state the rights of the accused during an arrest
     8.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to know why he or she is being arrested by the time he or she is being arrested
     9.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to an attorney when tried for any crime
a.       When the player cannot afford the services of an attorney, the government will provide one
    10.  Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to a fair and swift trial when accused of crime
    11. Every player who joins the democracy, even if not accepted as a citizen, is entitled to the right to not be subjected to cruel and unfair, or just nonsensical, punishment
    12.  Every player established as a citizen is entitled to the right to vote directly on new laws made
    13.  Every player established as a citizen is entitled to right to vote for their leaders

Responsibilities of the government

    1. The government is to protect the existence of itself, its people, and other sentient (Self-aware) beings as long as it stands
a.       The government shall do this in the least violent way possible, as not to violate the right to live and live peacefully
    2.  The government is to hold peace between all sentient beings and all political, racial, and religious groups as long as it stands
a.       The government shall do this in the least violent way possible, as not to violate the right to live and live peacefully
    3. The government shall keep an objective record of historic events in the time of its indoctrination (When it first came up) up until its devastation
a.       This shall include property ownership, land ownership, legal cases, and any such matters
b.      Casual conversation needn’t (needs not to/need not) be recorded
c.       The government shall appoint three  chroniclers to record, but only one may record at a time
    4.      The government shall imprison any individual or group threatening or in the act of shattering peace

Federal Offenses

1.      The destruction of sentient life is punishable by indefinite imprisonment and death
a.       In cases where the offending party is in any danger emanating (coming) from  the victim, this shall be ignored as self defense
b.      When accidental, such offenses must be taken more lightly, but still punished
2.      The destruction, mistreatment, theft, or changing of public property is  punishable by a large fine
3.      The destruction, mistreatment, theft, or changing of private property which is not done by the owner of said property is  punishable by a large fine
a.       The charges can be waived (Given up) at any point if the victim of the offense so wishes
4.      Giving weapons to those who wish to to any harm to sentient beings is punishable by indefinite imprisonment
